CONNECTIONS & DATA SOURCES

Search Console syncs

What the first and later Search Console syncs read, how often they run, and why data lags by about three days.

The first sync

The first sync reads the last 28 days plus the 28 days before them for comparison, so it can take a few minutes. It is not a full history import.

Syncing runs in the background. You can leave the page; previous data stays available. If you started the sync, you'll get a notification when it finishes.

Later syncs

  • Search Console syncs daily. The card shows Next scheduled sync.
  • Google publishes final Search Console data about three days late. So the reporting window always ends about three days ago.
  • If Google has nothing newer, the sync ends quickly with "Already up to date". That's normal.
  • To sync on demand, select Sync now. Wait five minutes between manual syncs.

What the card shows

Field Meaning
Last successful sync When data last arrived.
Last sync started Shown until the first sync succeeds.
Next scheduled sync The next automatic sync.
Data period The 28-day window, compared with the previous 28 days.
Records imported Rows from the latest sync: top queries, pages, devices and countries (up to 100 each).
Last failure Shown while the connection has a sync problem: what happened and what to do.
Recent sync activity The last few syncs and their results.

While a sync runs, the card shows Preparing sync then Fetching data. If a sync takes much longer than usual, it keeps running in the background; select Refresh status to check again.
