The setup steps
The Client setup panel on the client profile has these steps:
- Business: names, primary contact and internal notes (visible to your agency only).
- Website: website and primary domain.
- Market: country, timezone, billing currency and target markets.
- Services: industry, service package, services you provide, target audiences and Account manager.
- Billing contact: who receives invoices.
- Commercial terms: payment terms, retainer, billing frequency and invoice defaults.
Billing contact and Commercial terms appear only for owners, admins and account managers. 7. Review: a summary, with Finish onboarding.
Only the client name is required. Select Save and continue on each step (Save and review on the last one), or come back later.
What makes a client ready
Onboarding health tracks these items:
| Importance | Item |
|---|---|
| Required | Business details, Website, Brand Profile (three or more fields) |
| Recommended | Search Console, Google Analytics 4, first Growth Audit, first content, billing contact |
| Optional | An advertising account, commercial terms, first invoice |
Optional items never count against a client. Business details count as done once you add a legal name or primary contact email.
The Onboarding checklist in Client setup is similar. It doesn't list the website or Growth Audit, and it adds commercial terms and the first invoice as optional.
How to finish
- We recommend completing the required items and connecting Search Console or Google Analytics 4 first, so the client shows as Ready in Onboarding health.
- An agency owner or admin opens the Review step and selects Finish onboarding.
The client's status changes to Active.
