KEYWORD RESEARCH

Clusters, pillars and search intent

How research results are organised into pillars and clusters, with search intent and coverage.

The results tabs

  • Opportunities: individual keywords, filterable by All, Commercial, Questions and Local.
  • Clusters: a topic map of pillars (broad themes) and clusters (related keyword groups).
  • Existing rankings: what the client already ranks for in Search Console.
  • Content gaps: topics without matching content, based on Search Console pages and your Content library. It is not a full website crawl.
  • Saved: keywords and clusters you saved.

The AI insight panel summarises the findings, labelled "AI analysis — grounded in the evidence below".

Cluster cards

Each cluster shows its coverage (Covered, Weak coverage, Missing content, Needs optimisation or Coverage unknown), search intent, a recommended page type, audience, any existing pages and the AI's rationale.

Search intent

Each keyword has one to three intents: Transactional, Commercial investigation, Comparison, Local, Informational or Navigational.

Measured vs AI-discovered

Every keyword shows where it came from:

  • Measured — Search Console: shows clicks, impressions, CTR, average position and period from the client's own Search Console.
  • AI-discovered, Brand-derived, Site-derived or Competitor-derived (qualitative): ideas, not measurements. These show "Search demand not measured".

Search volume, cost per click and keyword difficulty are not available from a connected data provider. GrowthPilot never estimates them.
