Before you start
- Add the client's Billing email first (see Set up your agency's invoice details). It is copied onto the draft when you create it.
- Your agency's GrowthPilot access must be active.
- You need to be an agency owner, admin or account manager.
How to do it
- Open the client's invoices (from the client profile, or Agency invoices).
- Select New invoice. Drafts are private to your agency.
- Check or change:
- Currency: defaults to the client's billing currency.
- Issue date and Due date. Leave the due date blank to use the client's payment terms.
- Line items: Description, Qty, Unit price and Tax % per line. Use Add line for more (up to 50). The first line uses the client's default invoice line and retainer, if set.
- Stripe payment link (optional): your own Stripe-hosted link. Leave blank to use the client's default. Only Stripe payment links are accepted.
- Payment instructions and Notes.
- Select Create draft.
- When the draft is right, select Finalise. This allocates the invoice number (for example
INV-2026-0001) and the status becomes Ready to send.
Troubleshooting
"Add a billing email for this client before finalising": the draft was created before the client had a billing email. Select Cancel draft, add the billing email in the client's setup, then create a new invoice.
What happens next
Send it: see Send an invoice and reminders. You can still Edit an invoice while it is a Draft or Ready to send. Once sent, it cannot be edited; use Correct (void & replace) instead.
